Hello Camp Courageous!
The Travel Group had a blast at the Jersey Boys show on Saturday! We started off the day meeting four of the travelers here at Camp this morning and one traveler in Coralville before making our way to Des Moines. The drive was pretty windy but we made it just fine. When we first got to Des Moines the travelers spotted the beautiful State Capitol building! The travelers asked about the building and commented on how pretty it was! So after we stopped for lunch at Arby’s we drove over to the Capitol so we could take some pictures.
Then we made our way over to the Civic Center for the 2pm Jersey Boys show! Our first stop at the Civic Center was shopping!!! The travelers got to purchased some awesome Jersey Boys souvenirs! Soon after that it was time to take our seats. We had a great view of the stage! The show was great! Lots of great music, dancing and jokes! The show told the story of Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Nick Massi and Tommy DeVtio became The Four Seasons. They sang some of their greatest hits such as “Big Girls Don’t Cry”, “Sherry” and “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You”. The travelers were singing, laughing and cheering throughout the entire show! After the show all of the travelers told us how much they enjoyed the show and thanked us for bringing them! Traveler, Shambria Loffer said “I will never forget this!”. It’s so wonderful to see (and hear about) the travelers having such a great time!
After the show we started our drive back to Camp. We stopped at Culver’s in Newton for dinner. Over dinner all everyone could talk about was the show and how much fun it was! After a delicious meal we continued our drive, stopping in Coralville to drop off one traveler and then on to Camp to drop off the remaining four travelers.
