Camp Courageous gives a program to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Palmer

Thank you to Ron and Liz Wessels of Palmer IA for giving Camp Courageous the opportunity to provide a camp program to their church, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Palmer.  Ron was among the original Petroleum Marketers and Convenience Stores of Iowa Board Members in 1981, who came to Camp Courageous, toured it, met on it, and decided to take the camp under their wing.  Unfortunately, many of that group are no longer with us.  For 37-years, camp has been looking forward to the opportunity to go to Palmer and publicly thank the Wessels for having the faith in Camp Courageous, back when it was just a baby, and choosing to support it every year since.  A wonderful good and caring family…thank you Wessels for your years of support!
St. Paul Lutheran Church in Palmer, joined with other churches in the area (Elfsborg & St. John’s Lutheran in Pomeroy) to have a special Camp Courageous morning at church.  They had a free will offering for the camp and had a wonderful dinner for all those who attended.  We are grateful for the great questions and personal stories of how Camp Courageous touched the lives of loved ones.  We are grateful for everyone’s hospitality, particularly that of Pastor Tom Hagen, and the church leadership!  Camp was received with arms wide open.
