This weekend several members of the various Lions Clubs in district 9EC arrived at Camp Courageous for their fall rally. Pictured below is a group photo of over 120 members that attended.
This was the first chance for many Lions members to see the new train depot that they supported. Several Lions Clubs contributed towards this project to make the building a reality. As can be seen in the photo above, the Lions Club symbol is proudly displayed on the depot building.
A special thank you to Connie Inman of Stanwood (pictured on the right in the photo to the right) ,who is the 9EC District Governor, for choosing Camp Courageous as the site for her convention. Connie, along with her husband Jerry, have been to the camp several times and we appreciate her consideration of selecting the camp for her meeting location.
There was a huge outpouring of gifts and donations for camp as the members arrived. Several collected or donated items they found on the camp’s needs list. It should also be noted that each year the Lions sponsor the Lions Visually Impaired week in July. This week-long camp is set aside for campers that have visual disabilities.
Thank you to the Lions Clubs from across the district and state that continue to support the camp. They are are wonderful civic organization that are made up of caring and wonderful people.
