Thank you to the Iowa BIG Design Team for working away on the Camp Courageous Nature Design for the Lake Todd area. It is exceptional! Kaleb Cook (green sweater next to the monitor) is heading up this endeavor and has a huge history with camp from volunteering as a counselor, to leading Dancing Away the Stigma, to so much more.
More than 50 students at Linn-Mar High School made cookies Wednesday afternoon. It’s part of the school’s Best Buddies Program.
It’s a student-run organization that matches students with special needs with other high schoolers. Linn-Mar Best Buddies aims to get kids involved in new activities.
The senior who started this program says he’s learned a lot of leadership skills from planning events like this one.
“I found my passion and it’s to help individuals with special needs and this is just super awesome because now I know what to do with the rest of my life and I know that I can devote the rest of my life in service to this population,” Kaleb Cook said.
U.S. Cellular selected Senior Kaleb Cook for the 2017 Future of Good Program. And part of that includes a mobile giving campaign.
People can text the word “courage” to 2-0-2-2-2. Each text translates to a 10 dollar donation to Camp Courageous.
The Cellular Center says it’ll donate $1,000.
