Husmann donates a labor of love to Camp Courageous

Lorraine HusmannThank you to Lorraine Husmann, formerly of Monticello, now living in Clinton, for her wonderful labor of love, making quilts for the camper’s beds. Lorraine and her late husband, Irv, have been long time supporter of the camp, along with their daughter, Christi. Irv use to head-up the “Coon Hunters Golf Benefit for Camp Courageous” for several years. Christi had been a student of mine when I student-taught in Monticello, IA in the fall of 1976. At that same time she was part of the Scotch Grove Sunshine Girls, who did activities like making May baskets for the campers. She went on to attend and graduate from Iowa State University where she had a campus wide “Gong Show” to benefit camp. Then Christi headed to Clinton, IA to teach school. There she introduced her students to the camp and they had special events to benefit Camp Courageous. Thank you again, Husmann’s for their decades of support. -Charlie
