Norman “Norm” Mathis, 85 of Marion (formerly of the Coggon area) Passed, With Memorials To Camp Courageous

Camp Courageous sympathy goes out to the family and friends of Norman “Norm” Mathis, 85 of Marion (formerly of the Coggon area) upon his passing.  Norm, and his wife, Joann, of nearly 60-years, have been long time friends of Camp attending car shows, breakfasts and so much more.  Their dear friends were Honorary Board Members John & Dorothy Sill, who accompanied them to many Camp events and many Iowa Hawkeye Ball Games.  They followed closely Duane Sill’s work as he built the Sill Barn in memory of his parents.  Norm for years picked up milk from area farmers.  Norm was one of those individuals who never met a stranger.  Everyone loved Norm.  Camp’s sympathy goes out to Norm’s wife, JoAnn, daughter Lisa (Rob) Sherwood, and Lori (Alan) Hilgerson.  JoAnn recently visited Camp with Norm’s memorials and we had a wonderful time visiting the Sill Barn and reminiscing on days gone by…
