I had the good fortune of meeting Tom Stelzer through one of Camp’s early administrative assistants, Peggy Behrends. Peggy’s husband, Russ, was Assistant Warden at the Iowa Men’s Reformatory in Anamosa, where Tom headed up Iowa Prison Industries.

Camp enjoyed giving a program to to the Anamosa Middle School Raider Round Ups. These wonderful students have been collecting can tabs as a service project and wanted to know a little more about Camp Courageous. Many thanks to these kids and their staff for their generosity and for being such a great audience!
Members of First Congregational United Church of Christ Anamosa delivered a wonderful amount of much needed items followed by a tour of Camp Courageous. The donated items were gathered by the Youth Group.
