Driving Direction to Camp Courageous of Iowa
Camp Couragoeus is located in the beautiful Pictured Rocks area of Jones County, just five miles southeast of Monticello, Iowa, off of highways 38 or 151. It is approximately half way between the cities of Cedar Rapids and Dubuque. The camp lies on seventy acres of wooded land surrounded by thousands of acres of state primitive land and the Maquoketa River.
FROM HIGHWAY 151:
Use EXIT 65 (watch for the Camp Courageous DOT signs). After you exit, turn South (toward's the Monticello Airport... away from Monticello) on to Highway 38. You will round the Monticello Airport and go a few miles to 190th Street (the first paved road to your left). Turn East on 190th Street at the red/white Camp Courageous sign. Go approximately 2 miles on 190th Street and the camp's main gate will be on your right side.
FROM THE NORTH ON HIGHWAY 38:
If you are coming on Highway 38 from the north, you will follow it into the town of Monticello. When you get to the downtown intersection, you will turn left and go through Monticello's downtown district. You will follow this to a stoplight at Main Street. Turn right (South) on to Main Street until you get to the next stoplight at Highway 38 (get in the left/center turning lane). You will see a Kum 'N Go store. Turn left on to Highway 38 South. Follow this past the Monticello High School and the airport. A few miles past the Monticello Airport will see a red/white Camp Courageous sign instructing you to turn left on to 190th Street. Go approximately 2 miles on 190th Street and the camp's main gate will be on your right side.
FROM THE SOUTH ON HIGHWAY 38:
If you are coming on Highway 38 from the south, you will go past the town of Scotch Grove. A few miles later you will see a red/white Camp Courageous sign instructing you to turn right on to 190th Street. Go approximately 2 miles on 190th Street and the camp's main gate will be on your right side.
